NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPLY FOR COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT FUNDING (CSBG)

OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC INPUT

Anti-Poverty Plan

FY 21-22

Choanoke Area Development Association (CADA) announces its intent to apply for funding of $359,638 through the Community Service Block Grant Anti-Poverty Plan for Fiscal Year 2021 – 2022. CADA’s proposed WorkPlan for this program encompasses services to low-income residents of Bertie, Halifax, Herford, Martin and Northampton Counties. The program focuses on a self-sufficiency component to assists low-income residents obtain assistance with education, employment and supportive services to rise above federal poverty guidelines and become self-sufficient. The proposal may be reviewed on the CADA website (www.nc-cada.org).

CADA's Mobile Food Pantry Keeps Going Thanks to Faithful Volunteers

The Rev. Pam Taylor is a Methodist minister in Northampton County. Her husband, the Rev. Ronald Taylor, is a Baptist minister in Bertie County. Sunday dinners at their home, Sallie Surface laughed as she talked about the ecclesiastical couple, “must be pretty interesting.”

The NCHSA President, Mrs. Patricia Beier has announced that Ms. Regina Lewis who is a Head Start Family Service Specialist has won The Family Advocate of the Year Award for 2019-2020!

Incorporated in 1883, Woodland, North Carolina, is a small but diverse community.
